Marvel’s original superhero crew is gearing up for another adventure, this time within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The long-awaited full trailer for the upcoming film has recently been unveiled online. Yesterday, Marvel Studios teased the trailer with a brief sneak peek that highlighted the movie’s unique blend of retro and futuristic elements. Now, the studio has officially released the complete trailer, offering fans their most extensive glimpse yet at Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch. Fans have eagerly anticipated the film’s first trailer for months, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint!
The much-anticipated film “Fantastic Four: First Steps” has officially begun its journey with the release of a new trailer. The scene starts by revealing the iconic Baxter Building, the headquarters of the Fantastic Four, as Sue Storm and Reed Richards guide a visitor through the base. Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby seem almost identical to their characters, Richards and Storm respectively. The initial shots are in a 4:3 aspect ratio, reminiscent of TVs from the 1960s. The entire trailer exudes a classic 1960s sci-fi vibe, even featuring costumes that reflect this era for the team.
In the latest trailer, we get an excellent view of the entire Fantastic Four team. When the screen adjusts, we first catch a glimpse of Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing. There were discussions and disagreements among fans about whether the geologically challenged hero would be portrayed with practical effects or CGI during the film’s production. However, the final design appears to be a combination of both, resembling Korg from Thor: Ragnarok. Lastly, we see Johnny Storm displaying his powers, flying through the air without uttering his signature “Flame on!” phrase.
‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Trailer Reveals Galactus!
The debut trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps not only highlights the renowned superhero clan but also introduces their latest nemesis – Galactus. Known for his deep and resonating voice, Ralph Ineson from The Green Knight will be bringing this massive Marvel villain to life. Although the trailer didn’t fully unveil Galactus, it did display his iconic helmet, and his immense size, making the Statue of Liberty appear as small as a candy lollipop. However, The Silver Surfer, typically Galactus’ herald (portrayed by Julia Garner), was missing from the trailer. Nonetheless, John Malkovich gave us a sneak peek into his enigmatic character in the first glimpse of the film.
Essentially, it seems that “Fantastic Four: First Steps” deviates from typical origin story patterns. Given previous adaptations on the big screen, the origin of the Fantastic Four is likely well-known to many, even your grandma. The trailer suggests a narrative where their pasts are hinted at, but it appears that the movie won’t delve extensively into an origin story because the team seems to already be established in the beginning of the trailer. “Fantastic Four: First Steps” is helmed by Matt Shakman (known for “WandaVision”) and is scripted by Peter Cameron, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, Eric Pearson, and Ian Springer. The trailer also confirmed its release date as July 25, 2025.
