As a dedicated follower and admirer of Bollywood, I must say that Fardeen Khan’s journey in the industry is both inspiring and eye-opening. His resilience and determination to bounce back after a rocky start are truly commendable. It’s not every day you hear a story about an actor who had to return a whopping Rs. 1 crore to filmmakers due to the failure of his debut film, yet managed to keep his head high and continue pursuing his passion.
Among the prominent figures in Bollywood, Fardeen Khan is recognized as one of the notable actors who regained attention upon his comeback to show business. Notably, he initially appeared in the movie “Prem Aggan,” a production by his father, Feroz Khan, before his debut flopped at the box office. Lately, Fardeen revealed that he repaid approximately Rs. 1 crore to filmmakers who had contracted him prior to his initial failure. Additionally, he disclosed that his father provided financial aid for a year by offering him Rs. 50,000 monthly following the setback.
In a recent chat with Mashable India, Fardeen Khan, who won over fans with his versatility and charm in the 2000s, spoke about the struggles he faced in the film industry, despite being from a prominent acting family. When his initial movie, produced by his father and esteemed actor Feroz Khan, didn’t perform well at the box office, it set the stage for Fardeen to encounter numerous difficulties as the star of ‘Heyy Baby’.
Khan admitted that he had to repay close to 10 million rupees to the producers who had given him an advance before his first movie, Prem Aggan, flopped at the box office. He explained, “I was dismissed and couldn’t find work. It was a challenging time,” reminiscing about that tough period.
In this circumstance, Feroz Khan, the actor’s father, offers a helping hand in a restricted way. The actor from Welcome provided his son, Fardeen, around 4-4.5 lakh rupees for his first film. Following its unsuccessful run, he consented to give him 50,000 rupees per month for a year. However, he also made it clear that after this period, Fardeen would have to manage on his own.
Fardeen shared that he purchased his first vehicle, a Opel Astra, using his own savings. Out of the total amount of Rs 50,000, he allocated Rs 23,000 towards the car installment. He also mentioned that he had to cover the costs for fuel and other associated expenses,” Fardeen explained. This experience left a lasting impression on Fardeen about budgeting and self-reliance in financial matters.
The actor from Khel Khel Mein revealed that, when asked about his father’s behavior at work, he described him as firm in both his role as a father and a filmmaker. He also emphasized that his father, Feroz Khan, who was renowned for his honesty, had no qualms speaking openly about reality.
He admitted it was ‘tough’ to heat some stark realities from his father’s straightforward approach, as he never shied away from calling out his wrong choices.
Feroz used to advise me on the aspects I needed to work on and highlight my strengths as well. He seemed to pay extra attention to me, probably because I was his son. But, he was always straightforward in his approach. This is what Khan reminisced about him.
Actor Fardeen Khan recently appeared in the movie “Khel Khel Mein” alongside Akshay Kumar and Visfot, with Riteish Deshmukh also starring. In the near future, he is set to appear in “Housefull 5.
