As a long-time admirer of Farhan Akhtar, I find his recent insights on alpha males truly inspiring. Growing up with a plethora of larger-than-life Bollywood characters, it’s refreshing to hear a definition that emphasizes inner strength and personal growth rather than brash displays of ego.
Growing up, I’ve been captivated by numerous alpha male characters gracing the Bollywood screen – from Kabir Singh of “Kabir Singh”, Ranvijay Singh in “Animal”, all the way to Radhe from “Tere Naam”. Recently, Farhan Akhtar has shed light on what it truly means to be an alpha male. In his own words, an alpha male doesn’t need to boastfully beat a drum and announce himself as ‘Bob’; instead, he embodies qualities such as strength, confidence, and charisma that speak for themselves.
During the latest podcast with YouTuber Raj Shamani, Farhan Akhtar was asked to define the concept of alpha males and how he perceives the whole idea around it. He shared that the alpha is an individual who “wants to be at the top of the pyramid.”
Farhan stated that everyone plays the lead role in their own life story. To him, an actor-filmmaker serves as a personal hero, influencing the choices made throughout one’s life. He hinted at having a strong group of supportive characters in his personal journey without explicitly naming them.
Regarding his perception of alpha males, the actor from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara stated, “An alpha male, to me, is the head of a group. Isn’t that macho? When conversation veers towards ‘I am superior,’ it’s not something an alpha male feels compelled to prove to someone.”
He commented, “If I must roam about proclaiming ‘I am Bob’ to everyone…Isn’t that rather presumptuous, as if you’re spreading yourself everywhere and telling everybody…It’s more about people perceiving it.”
In summary, the director of The Don 3 emphasized the importance of respecting others and making them feel valued within our lives.
Farhan Akhtar has appeared in various movies such as Rock On, Karthik Calling Karthik, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do, Luck By Chance, and others. Additionally, he has been part of films like Rock On 2, The Sky Is Pink, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, and Wazir.
In the year 2021, he was most recently spotted in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s sports drama film titled Toofaan, which he directed. Currently, Farhan is working on Don 3, a project where he serves as director and features Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani as the main actors.
