Farida Jalal admits having ‘motherly affection’ for Shah Rukh Khan; reveals emotional reason behind wanting to give him ‘all the mamta’

Each moment spent working together, she said, was a cherished part of their shared journey.

Talking about her deep affection towards the famous star, Jalal shared that playing his on-screen mother numerous times created a strong mother-son connection for her. Additionally, since the actor from ‘Jawan’ had sadly lost his own mother, she frequently felt an innate urge to express her maternal love towards him generously.

In a nostalgic moment, Farida Jalal looked back at her encounter with actor Shah Rukh Khan on the set of the 1992 film “Dil Aashna Hai”, one of his earliest projects. She mentioned that he was initially quiet and reserved, usually preferring solitude.

Yet, she observed a striking alteration in him during the production of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, characterizing him as a totally transformed individual at that point. She credited this metamorphosis to the influence of success on an actor’s character.

In a chat on the Locarno Meets podcast, the actor mentioned that his mother, Lateef Fatima Khan, who passed away in 1990, is someone he imagines would enjoy watching his movies up in heaven, as he creates them with a large-scale vision in mind.
