Father Found Guilty of Sending 17-Year-Old Son to Murder PnB Rock

As a long-time resident of Los Angeles, I’ve seen my share of senseless violence, but this case hits close to home. The fact that a father could send his own child, a teenager no less, to commit such a heinous crime is beyond comprehension. It’s like a scene straight out of a movie, but unfortunately for PnB Rock and his family, it was all too real.

In a Los Angeles courtroom, a jury declared Freddie Trone, aged 42, guilty for orchestrating the murder of PnB Rock. The verdict came after the jurors spent four hours considering their decision. Freddie was found guilty on four charges: one charge for murder, two charges for robbery, and one charge for conspiring to commit robbery.

In September 2022, the rapper and singer known as PnB Rock (whose real name is Rakim Allen) was having dinner with his girlfriend, who’s also the mother of his 4-year-old child, at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. A young individual wearing a ski mask entered the restaurant and demanded Allen’s jewelry, followed by gunfire. Allen was hit several times and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries an hour later at a nearby hospital.

During the court proceedings, it was claimed by the legal team seeking conviction that the teenager carried out actions under his father’s instructions, while Trone was the one driving the vehicle used to escape afterwards. However, Trone’s defense stated that he merely assisted in the crimes after they had taken place.

Another individual named Tremont Jones was convicted for two crimes of robbery and one charge of conspiring to commit robbery. His son, currently 19 years old, has also been taken into custody for alleged crimes involving murder and robbery, but it was determined that he is not mentally capable to participate in a court trial.

Trone and Jones will face sentencing on August 27.
