FBI: Most Wanted’s Showrunner Teases Some Exciting Returning Guest Stars, But Remy Is In The Hot Seat Next

Warning: This discussion contains spoilers for the winter premiere of FBI: Most Wanted, titled “Moving On”, broadcasted on January 28. You can watch it now if you have a Paramount+ subscription and have caught up streaming.

In the first episode of the 2025 TV schedule, FBI: Most Wanted focused on accountability, not just with the week’s case involving deaths connected to a bombing from nearly thirty years ago. Personally, I found myself dealing with troubling news from my sister, and things took a turn for the worse when my estranged father revealed something towards the end of the episode. During an interview, showrunner David Hudgins gave some intriguing hints about upcoming guest stars, but it seems Remy might face some serious trouble before those events unfold.

Kicking things off! In the initial scenes, my sister Tink (portrayed by Hannah Adrian) reached out to me in distress, having discovered that her spouse was squandering his days on alcohol instead of job hunting, while she was shoulder-deep in work and parental responsibilities. I had to bolt when a postal worker’s life was tragically taken, but I strongly urged Tink to address the accountability issue with her husband head-on.

Initially, everything appeared fine… until at the end of the episode, Nina received a call from her father Walker (John Finn), informing her that Tink’s husband had brutally assaulted her and she needed hospitalization. Enraged and starting to feel somewhat guilty for suggesting Tink discuss accountability with Brett, Nina promptly decided to book the next flight to Houston.

The episode concluded abruptly, but it appeared that Nina might overcome her resistance towards her father if it benefited her sister. Thus, is there a possibility that Hannah Adrian and John Finn will reappear on the show in 2025, with their first appearance being titled “Moving On”? I posed this question to the showrunner David Hudgins, and he hinted:

In the days ahead, we can expect more insights into Nina’s family dynamics, given her current struggles to sort out her relationship with Scola and Dougie.

The showrunner didn’t directly confirm that the actress portraying Nina’s sister and father will return before the end of the sixth season, but hinted that we might learn more about her family in the future, suggesting there could be potential for their return. However, it’s unclear if “in the future” refers to further exploration of Nina’s story within Season 6 or hopes for a seventh season, as FBI: Most Wanted has not been renewed for seasons 2025-2026 yet, unlike its sister series FBI.

Regarding the FBI, it’s worth mentioning that Shantel VanSanten made an appearance in the winter premiere of the show to back Scola. This happened only a few hours before Nina starred in a significant episode of Most Wanted. John Boyd, one of the actors, expressed what a tragedy it would have been if she wasn’t present at that time. Hudgins commented on the recent FBI/Most Wanted crossover mini-episode and hinted that another one is planned in the future.

Mike Weiss (the showrunner of FBI) and I often communicate regarding characters Nina and Scola, as we work on determining their storylines for the coming season. It’s exciting to include a small cross-over aspect, and you can expect more appearances from Scola in this season.

In Season 6, it’s expected that John Boyd will reappear as Scola once more, which is exciting news for viewers. However, it’s not definitively confirmed whether Hannah Adrian and John Finn will return at this time. As for Most Wanted, there seems to be speculation about how Nina’s storyline might progress in the upcoming episode since the description hints that Remy will take center stage. In the promo, Shantel VanSanten doesn’t make an appearance, leading some to ponder if her character’s storyline will continue off-screen for now.

In the upcoming episode titled “Ars Moriendi,” the showrunner was responsible for its scripting, and it appears that David Hudgins crafted a tense hour of TV specifically for Remy. The logline hints that this installment will not only feature intense moments on screen, but also some personal struggles for Remy off-screen, as suggested by CBS.

Following a daytime murder spectacle, it’s now up to the Fugitive Task Force to track and apprehend a ruthless gang involved in an ominous online competition. Simultaneously, Remy and Abby find themselves at odds as they strive for alignment.

In the midpoint of Season 6, Remy and Abby’s relationship seemed uncertain, as they didn’t appear to sort out all their problems during the winter break off-camera. To learn how things unfold between them, viewers will need to watch the next episode on February 4. Whether there’s hope for their future together remains to be seen…

Every Tuesday night, you can catch the latest installments of all three FBI series on CBS. The sequence begins with FBI at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, followed by FBI: International (where the storyline of Vo was concluded in the winter premiere) at 9 p.m. ET, and wrapping up with FBI: Most Wanted at 10 p.m. ET. If you want to rewatch previous episodes from this season, they are available on Paramount+.
