In the upcoming episode of FBI: Most Wanted, scheduled for 2025, Remy and the task force will need to scrutinize a killer’s motives more closely than ever before. Noted director Milena Govich, who is recognized by fans as Det. Nina Cassady from Law & Order, has re-joined the team to assist with this episode in the Dick Wolf TV universe. In an exclusive interview with TopMob, Govich discussed the unique challenges faced by the task force this week and other intriguing details!
On Tuesday, February 11 at 10 p.m. Eastern Time on CBS, don’t miss the upcoming episode of “Most Wanted” titled “Do You Realize?” This installment will see the return of Steven Williams as Ray Cannon Sr., but his arrival isn’t without its complexities. In Philadelphia, the case of the week involves a double murder and a 14-year-old girl who has been kidnapped. Actress Milena Govich shared some insights about what lies ahead, hinting at several unanswered questions that will be addressed.
In this instance, we have a rare case, as the offenders are exceptionally young and come from the foster care system. This raises a conundrum: to what extent is the offender causing harm to others, or is it more about self-defense and protecting those dear to him?
This murder case could have an unusual motive compared to others, making it intriguing to observe how the Task Force members respond. The teaser for “Do You Realize??” hints that their empathy might dwindle if Hana is threatened with a gun at some stage! Milena Govich stated further.
In this production, we have relatively young actors who are slightly older than their character’s age but still quite fresh-faced. Our exceptional guest stars for the episode were none other than Lauren Chanel and Keon Bowman. They were impeccably prepared, eager to experiment, and I believe they delivered truly remarkable performances.
Interestingly enough, Keon Bowman has previously worked with Wolf Entertainment on various projects, having starred in a tense episode of Chicago Med back in 2024. On the other hand, Lauren Chanel is recognized for her work on The CW’s All American following an appearance in 2022. The director of Most Wanted had only praise for this duo in a challenging episode she also referred to as such.
Milena Govich had previously directed several episodes of FBI: Most Wanted, with her latest not being the first. She has also directed episodes for other shows in the Dick Wolf universe, such as FBI, FBI: International, Law & Order, Law & Order: Organized Crime, Chicago Med, and Chicago Fire.
When I pointed out to the actor/director that the action sequences in FBI: Most Wanted often resemble those seen in movies, even on a smaller screen (to the extent it was nominated for Emmys in two stunt categories), she shared her thoughts on executing such dynamic actions within the time constraints of a network TV production.
Working on this show is no walk in the park, let alone a stroll [laughs]. Yet, that’s part of what makes it so thrilling! Essentially, we cram half an action movie into eight to nine days, which keeps things tight and tense. But the rewards – the amazing stunts, special effects, and visuals – make every challenge worthwhile. I thrive on the pressure. Moreover, we’re fortunate to have a top-notch crew and producing team for FBI: Most Wanted. As a director, I can bring forth all my creative ideas, but without the right people to help me deliver on time and within budget, it simply won’t work. So, it’s all about teamwork.
Is it true that she creates a brief writing system for a series she frequently directs again? This is indeed accurate, as confirmed by Govich. To elaborate further…
Over several seasons, I’ve worked on multiple episodes of FBI: Most Wanted, and many of the team members have remained consistent. As a result, I’ve built some fantastic connections, particularly with the director of photography for this episode, Ludovic Littee, as well as the producers. The executive producer, Ken Girotti, is always encouraging and open to suggestions from directors. After working together successfully, we’ve developed a kind of code language, but more importantly, we’ve cultivated trust. When I propose an idea for an episode, even if it seems a bit wild, they are more likely to support me because they believe in my abilities. [laughs]
