Final Fantasy XIV has managed to collaborate with several big names, and now it’s teaming up with Fujifilm’s Instax line for a unique in-game photography experience. A significant aspect of this partnership is the Photograph emote, allowing players to mimic using an Instax instant camera. The entire experience, from taking the picture to hearing the distinctive Instax print sound, is included.
Different from some previous partnerships that necessitated additional spending, this emote won’t cost players a dime once Patch 7.18 is deployed—there are no conditions attached. Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida unveiled the collaboration towards the end of Letter from the Producer Live Part 85, hinting at it along with other anticipated game updates in the upcoming major revisions. To mark this partnership, a unique screenshot contest will take place between February 27 and March 23, 2025.
At this exciting gathering, I get the opportunity to showcase my top gaming moments by submitting my favorite screenshots. Using a special online tool, these snapshots are magically transformed into Instax-style prints that capture the essence of the game. By posting my submission on X, I automatically enter a grand draw where 10,000 lucky winners will be rewarded with unique in-game treasures. Some of the amazing prizes up for grabs include:
- Gaelica
- Great Paraserpent
- Fat Cat Earrings
Further details regarding participation, submission rules, and qualification criteria will be disclosed as we approach the event’s commencement. This partnership is set to begin just prior to the release of Patch 7.2, titled “Seekers of Eternity.” However, there are exciting developments for players to anticipate in the coming months before that. The estimated arrival of Patch 7.2 is slated for late March 2025.
- New main story quests
- The Arcadion Cruiserweight raid tier
- Shades’ Triangle field operation, Occult Crescent – The next large-scale battle zone following in the footsteps of Eureka and Bozja.
- Cosmic Exploration – A new feature for crafters and gatherers that lets them pilot mechs and explore new planets.
Before the release of Patch 7.2, the Instax collaboration ends, allowing players to capture some final moments before they encounter whatever lies ahead.
