Finn Jones Pleads for Iron Fist Return in the MCU!

Since Netflix’s “Iron Fist” series was canceled back in 2018, there have been assurances from those involved with the show and Marvel executives that the characters would continue to exist. Plans were made to bring the show to Disney+ and create a feature film. Now, with all Netflix Marvel shows being moved to Disney+ and their characters becoming part of the MCU, the future of “Iron Fist” is once again under discussion, particularly following the announcement of “Echo” and the revival of “Daredevil: Born Again.” Could “Iron Fist” make a comeback, and will its original actor, Finn Jones, reprise his role as Danny Rand / Iron Fist, similar to how Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock / Daredevil? Jones himself has expressed interest in this possibility. At the La Conve Monterrey anime convention in New Mexico, Jones shared with the audience (via Cosmic Marvel):

I’ve taken note of the criticisms surrounding the character and my portrayal. To address this, I simply ask for an opportunity to show what I can do. I’m prepared and eager to disprove any misconceptions.

Jones’ reference points to a continuous flow of criticism aimed at the series and his character portrayal of Iron Fist in particular. Critics, who are fans of Marvel, have been vocal about their disapproval of the show’s underwhelming fight scenes and lack of visually engaging elements. Additionally, they’ve criticized the inconsistent and implausible representation of Iron Fist. Jones asserts that with a change in writers and directors, he could demonstrate his potential as the perfect Danny Rand. Previously, he had advocated for the role, expressing this desire to The Nerd Shepherd.

I’m eager to rekindle the chemistry with Mike, as it was simply captivating before. I believe the dynamic between us is intriguing, and I think it would be fascinating to see these characters team up again. If given the opportunity, I’d support a Heroes For Hire TV series revival featuring both of us.

Krysten Ritter, who plays Jessica Jones in the series, has expressed her willingness to reprise her role. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in June 2024, she said, “I would definitely return as Jessica Jones. I’m ready and eager to do so. She’s a character I adore, and she’s been a significant part of my life for five years now. Many people, both women and men, identify with her. So, if the chance arises, I might already have a coat handy.

This is a developing story that is currently being updated.
