Contains spoilers for “Fire Country” Season 3, Episode 11 — “Fare Thee Well”
Following six months of playful banter, Audrey James (Leven Rambin) and Bode Leone (Max Thieriot) have progressed beyond their casual friendship in the TV show “Fire Country”. During Season 3, Episode 11, titled “Fare Thee Well”, while extinguishing a fire at a Renaissance festival, they make a wager: the one saving the most people by the end of the day is the winner. Audrey had a lead, but granted Bode an opportunity to tie by assisting him with one more rescue. In a dramatic turn, she proposes a sword fight to settle it, but instead, they share their first kiss.
As a gamer, I’m totally hyped about the fact that Audrey and Bode are now an official couple! I mean, who didn’t see this coming after she broke things off with her boyfriend and he stepped off the rollercoaster of his up-and-down relationship with Gabriela Perez (Stephanie Arcila)? Fans on the “Fire Country” subreddit are all about it. “Man, I was so pumped for Bode and Audrey! Finally, we get to witness their journey as a couple,” said u/thehardtruth12. “I adored this episode! Mainly because Bode and Audrey finally showed more flirting and shared a kiss!” echoed u/Initial_Speed963. Could it be that Audrey is just what Bode needs? It seems history suggests that loving her could be better for him than continuing with Gabriela.
Bode and Audrey’s romance might be healthier than one with Gabriela
Audrey and Bode provide a refreshing change from the turmoil surrounding Bode’s contentious partnership with Gabriela, often referred to as the most problematic couple in “Fire Country.” Fans found their relationship so grating that they pleaded for the show not to rekindle it. Fortunately, the series has thus far managed to keep them apart, avoiding a complicated love situation and sparing Jake Crawford (Jordan Calloway), both Gabi’s ex and Bode’s friend, from potentially getting involved in a love quadrangle. This decision has allowed the show to focus on its main storyline without unnecessary complications.
In the end, it appears that compatibility is crucial for them. Both Audrey and Bode share a competitive nature and thrive in extinguishing fires. Similarly, Gabriela displays this same competitive spirit, but her recklessness, which mirrors Bode’s, tends to increase when they are together. Conversely, Audrey’s vulnerabilities seem to complement Bode’s, creating a stable partnership between them. Let’s hope that Bode’s connection with Gabriela doesn’t prove temporary and leads him back to her instead of strengthening his bond with Audrey.
