Fire Country Season 3: Who Plays Wes Fox?

Contains spoilers for “Fire Country” Season 3, Episodes 16 — “Dirty Money”

Although Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin), a significant character in the spin-off “Fire Country” yet to debut, is already facing a multitude of problems due to her estranged and problematic father, Wes (W. Earl Brown). Wes manages an extensive illegal marijuana farm, posing threats to his peers in the drug trade. Consequently, venomous snakes appear among his crops and fires break out near him. This situation is troublesome for Mickey, who intentionally distanced herself from her father and has maintained a clean lifestyle since. As she climbs the ranks in Edgewater, her father’s status as a drug lord could make her life exceptionally challenging.

The series doesn’t tackle the dispute between the daughter and father, thus both Wes and Mickey will appear in the upcoming spin-off “Sheriff Country.” However, it’s important to note that this isn’t Brown’s debut performance. If you’re a fan of Westerns, you might recognize him easily. Similarly, if you enjoy classic sitcoms or horror films, his face could be quite familiar too. Here’s a glimpse into the extensive career he’s had over the years.

W. Earl Brown made a big impression on Deadwood

W. Earl Brown has been actively involved in acting since 1991, accumulating numerous roles over the years. Known for his character-driven performances, he’s featured prominently in various action movies such as “Excessive Force,” and has made significant appearances in productions like “Wes Craven’s New Nightmare” where he played a morgue attendant, “Project: Alf” as Ernie, the “Stand-In” episode of “Seinfeld” as Al, and “Scream” as cameraman Kenny who meets a grisly demise while assisting Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox).

Beyond these facts, it’s worth noting that Brown has showcased his versatility in various roles. He starred as Meat Loaf in the TV movie “Meat Loaf: To Hell and Back” and portrayed David Burnet in “The Alamo.” However, Western enthusiasts will forever associate him with Dan Dority from “Deadwood,” where he was a pivotal character for Al Swearengen (Ian McShane). Since then, Brown has been seen across a broad spectrum of media, from music videos to “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” On television alone, he’s had recurring roles in “American Crime,” “Preacher,” and recently portrayed Michael in “Hacks.” With a diverse range of genres behind him and the anticipation of playing Wes in his future projects, Brown’s career seems to be shining brighter than ever.
