Fire Country’s Big Finn Twist Is A Disappointment (And Might Ruin Season 3)

For fans who were hoping that Finn (played by Blake Lee), the potential good guy for Gabriela Perez (Stephanie Arcila), might actually be true – their hopes have been shattered. In the episode “Eyes and Ears Everywhere,” the group responds to a fire at his house, only to discover that he intentionally set it to catch Gabi’s attention. Unfortunately, Finn turns out to be a stalkerish character who is willing to risk himself and others due to Gabi’s non-responsiveness to his texts or rejection of his advances. The team discovers a large collection of pictures of Gabi on his padlocked basement wall, effectively ending their relationship. This development seems designed to bring her back into the orbit of Bode Leone (Max Thieriot).

Although Bode has found a peaceful love affair with Audrey (Leven Rambin’s character), replacing the tumultuous relationship he had with Gabi, Gabi hasn’t been as fortunate. Her romance with Jake (Jordan Calloway) ended when Bode became an option, and her marriage to Diego Moreno (Rafael de la Fuente) crumbled in the wake of a plane crash. It’s a shame she didn’t get to experience a happy relationship; instead, it seems she might kidnap Finn or even end up killing him, requiring rescue once more. With just two episodes left this season, her predicament could further weaken an already struggling Season 3.

Don’t be surprised if Bode (or Manny) ends up rescuing Gabi

Towards the finale of “Eyes and Ears Everywhere,” Finn escapes from the back of Gabi’s ambulance in disgrace, brandishing a scalpel as a threat. This implies that Finn has become a dangerous loose end with his sharp weapon yet to be dealt with. As for the season finale, “I’d Do It Again,” it is rumored to revolve around a wildfire that jeopardizes the entire team, including Bode’s grandfather Walter (portrayed by Jeff Fahey). Be prepared for Gabi to potentially find herself in peril related to Finn and require rescue amidst the raging flames.

Throughout the series, Gabi has been miraculously rescued not just once, but twice from fires. Her dad, Manny (Kevin Alejandro), had saved her before, and that was earlier this season itself. This time, it remains to be seen whether Manny or Bode will be the one to save her. Let’s cross our fingers hoping that the storyline won’t lead to another love triangle involving Bode and Audrey. Despite the show’s efforts to depict Gabi as a self-reliant and powerful woman, her actions in Season 3, particularly charging into a forest during a fierce blaze, which potentially endangered her father’s life, have cast doubts on this image.
