In promotion, ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ was labeled as ‘The End of the Jurassic Era’, however, upon reflection, this is just one of many aspects about the film that seem illogical. This is because three years after its release, the ‘Jurassic Era’ has miraculously returned, thanks to ‘Jurassic World Rebirth‘. Though it retains the ‘Jurassic’ name, it promises to steer the franchise towards daring new paths.
Today, the trailer for “Jurassic World: Rebirth” was unveiled before the Super Bowl, hinting at the chaos of dinosaur encounters coming soon. The movie unfolds five years after “Dominion,” where Earth’s dinosaurs have been confined to certain areas. Zora Bennett (played by Scarlett Johansson) is assigned to acquire specific dinosaur DNA to develop a life-saving drug. Alongside her, she has Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey), a paleontologist, and ship captain Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali).
This upcoming film titled “Jurassic World Rebirth” promises an engaging plot and could potentially revitalize the series following mixed responses to the last two “Jurassic World” installments. From what we’ve glimpsed, this movie might be one you won’t want to skip in 2025.
The Jurassic World Rebirth trailer takes the franchise back to its roots
The trailer for “Jurassic World Rebirth” promises much anticipation for the upcoming installment, but what truly intrigues might be the creative minds behind it. Directing the film is Gareth Edwards, known for his work on 2014’s “Godzilla,” and writing the script is David Koepp, who penned both the original 1993 “Jurassic Park” and its sequel, “The Lost World: Jurassic Park.” These two artists have experience with colossal creatures causing chaos, suggesting that the movie could indeed embody its subtitle by blazing a new trail for this series.
Edwards shared with Entertainment Weekly his thoughts on the franchise’s potential future: “It seemed like a fresh trilogy, if not for Universal, then at least for me,” he expressed. “I’m unsure of their specific plans, but it felt like the start of a completely new chapter in this series.” Additionally, he likened the film to the timeless monster movie, “Jaws,” and referred to “Rebirth” as an affectionate tribute to Steven Spielberg.
In a different scenario, it’s yet unclear if they will achieve their goal, but the trailer suggests things are looking hopeful for now. “Jurassic World Rebirth” also features Rupert Friend as a pharmaceutical rep, along with Luna Blaise, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Audrina Miranda, and David Iacono, portraying a family who get stranded at sea and need rescuing during the main characters’ mission. The movie hits theaters on July 2, so prepare yourself for the next phase in dinosaur (and franchise) development!
