As a huge fan of both Julia Garner‘s acting abilities and the classic horror genre, I am absolutely thrilled to see her take on the role of Terry Gionoffrio in Paramount+’s “Apartment 7A”. Having grown up watching Mia Farrow’s iconic portrayal of Rosemary in “Rosemary’s Baby”, I can only imagine the chills and suspense that Garner will bring to this prequel.
In the initial glimpses of Paramount+’s “Apartment 7A” on Paramount+, Julia Garner, a budding young dancer, finds herself on the edge of recognition. However, strange occurrences start unfolding around her, casting an ominous shadow over her promising future.
As an avid fan, I’m thrilled about the upcoming prequel to one of my all-time favorite horror classics, “Rosemary’s Baby,” which was released back in 1968. This new film takes us back to the year 1965 in New York City, and it delves into the mysterious events that unfolded at the infamous Bramford building before the arrival of Rosemary, brilliantly portrayed by Mia Farrow.
According to the streaming service, Garner depicts Terry Gionoffrio as a determined young dancer yearning for success in New York. Yet, following a tragic accident, she is welcomed into the elegant apartment building by an older couple, played by Dianne Wiest and Kevin McNally.
As a seasoned writer and having read countless descriptions, I find this one intriguing and full of suspense. The description starts off with a promising beginning – “When fellow resident and influential Broadway producer Jim Sturgess, known for his work in Across the Universe, extends an invitation to her for another shot at fame.” This part sets the tone for the character’s aspirations and dreams coming true.
I’m a gamer, and in this cinematic adventure, Marli Siu, Andrew Buchan, Rosy McEwen, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith join me on the screen. Each brings their unique talents to our Paramount+ production, making it an experience not to be missed.
The apartment labeled 7A is a production of Platinum Dunes and Sunday Night in collaboration with Paramount Pictures. This film is an adaptation of Ira Levin’s novel “Rosemary’s Baby.” Natalie Erika James, who previously directed “Relic,” helms this project, working on the script alongside Christian White and Skylar James. Vicki Dee Rock and Alexa Ginsburg are listed as executive producers, while John Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller produce.
Below, see the first-look images for Apartment 7A, which hits Paramount+ on Sept. 27.
