First Look at M’Baku in Avengers: Doomsday – Fans Are Going Wild!

In this reworded version, we’re sharing an exclusive sneak peek from the set of “Avengers: Doomsday,” offering fans a glimpse at a beloved Black Panther character. The highly anticipated superhero collaboration is scheduled to feature a host of characters hailing from Wakanda, a cornerstone of the popular comic book universe. These characters include Letitia Wright as Shuri, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, and Winston Duke as M’Baku. In the absence of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa following his passing in 2020, these characters from Ryan Coogler’s MCU subfranchise are set to fill the void in “Doomsday,” which marks the first Avengers film since that time.

During filming for “Avengers: Doomsday”, an unintended photo has given fans a sneak peek at Winston Duke reprising his popular character M’Baku in the movie. Although details about Duke’s role within the film are still undisclosed, it is possible that M’Baku will play a crucial part in the grand Multiverse-spanning narrative of the movie, potentially even debuting his Marvel Comics superhero persona for the first time on screen.

The image was posted on Instagram by cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel. It showed a sneak peek of the film set for “Doomsday,” with a beautiful sunrise as its backdrop. Notably, it also revealed some main cast and team members, including what appears to be a first glimpse of M’Baku in the movie.

In this scene, it’s not completely obvious who Duke is, but given the character wielding a weapon similar to M’Baku’s knobkerrie, it seems highly likely that Duke is the one standing there, silently observing as the sun rises.

In nearly every appearance, the powerful Wakandan warrior is seldom without his heavy wooden staff for impact, a weapon that has been consistently present with him, featured alongside him in both “Black Panther” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Actor Winston Duke has signed on for the ensemble cast of “Avengers: Endgame 2” (tentative title), a film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and boasting heavyweight stars like Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, as well as legendary X-Men actors such as Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen from the Fox universe. The movie, originally scheduled for release in May 2026 but now delayed until December of that year, is being directed by the Russo brothers who have previously worked on MCU projects. The story follows Earth’s Superheroes joining forces with multiple superhero groups to combat the Multiversal machinations of Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.
