News Update: Contrary to previous speculations, the Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 “Chicago” has been revealed for preview. Originally hinted at a release in 2025 in August last year, it was later clarified that the design would retain the same colors. The latest glimpse suggests that the shoe will indeed be available in the “Chicago” colorway. A similar situation unfolded with the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game,” where initial rumors were corrected to predictions of a new “Bloodline” pair, eventually turning out to be the original “Flu Game” design. Although our view is currently restricted to a distant image, the traditional red, white and black color scheme can be seen with modifications specific to the Hi ’85 model – such as a smaller Wings logo, changed Swoosh shape, and elevated collar. As of now, official release details are still pending, but it was previously announced that it could drop this fall through Nike SNKRS and selected retailers for a starting price of $250 USD. Keep an eye out for further updates, including a comprehensive set of images, as Jordan Brand continues to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1.
Update: Previously, we shared a rumor that the iconic Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Chicago” might be making a comeback next year. However, the original source, EldenMonitors, has now specified that the color combination will differ from what was initially assumed. The shoe will indeed feature the classic colors of “White,” “Varsity Red,” and “Black.” Keep an eye out for a sneak peek of this revised colorway, expected to launch in the latter part of 2025.
UPDATE: Regrettably, the AJ 1 ’85 won’t feature the color blocking design similar to the Chicago edition. I’ll share a prototype image and additional information with you shortly.

If you haven’t been following the numerous conversations about Jordan Brand’s upcoming plans, next year marks the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1, and judging by the rumors that have emerged, it promises to be a memorable year.
In 2025, the classic Air Jordan 1 High ’85 model is set to make another appearance, following its recent resurgence. This year, we witnessed the return of the “Metallic Burgundy” design, and for next year, there are whispers of a “Reverse Shadow” look and the iconic “Bred” flavor. Furthermore, EldenMonitors has hinted at a new report suggesting that the “Chicago” colorway will also be released in its ’85 version in 2025. The black, white, and red design was last seen in 2022 through the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Lost & Found,” or “Chicago Reimagined,” pair, and it is anticipated to maintain the traditional color scheme this time around as well.
Currently, there’s no news from Jordan Brand about their plans for the year 2025. Keep an eye out for information on the anticipated comeback of the Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Chicago,” which might include a sneak peek at the shoes and possibly a release date in fall 2025 through Nike SNKRS and selected retailers, priced at approximately $250 USD.
It’s been announced exclusively that the classic Air Jordan 1 ’85 High OG “Chicago” is projected to make a comeback in Fall 2025. This iconic sneaker will be available in sizes for both adults and kids, as part of Jordan Brand’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
