First Look at the Air Jordan 6 “Doernbecher”

As a long-time fan and witness to the beautiful intersection of art, sports, and philanthropy that is the Doernbecher Freestyle collaboration, I am thrilled to see this 20th anniversary collection taking shape! The upcoming Air Jordan 6, with its pastel hues and heartfelt details, is a testament to the creativity and resilience of the children at the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

Product Name: Air Jordan 6 (Doernbecher Edition)

20 years ago, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital partnered with Jordan Brand and Nike to let kids battling health issues design their own sneakers through the Doernbecher Freestyle program. In 2024, we’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of this amazing collaboration! While we won’t see the full collection until October, a sneak peek of an upcoming Air Jordan 6 has already leaked out. I can’t wait to see what these talented kids have come up with for this special milestone!

Since 2009, when then-12-year-old Jordan Dark collaborated to create a pair for the Doernbecher collection, this fresh interpretation of Michael Jordan’s sixth signature shoe showcases a whimsical pastel style with pink and teal accents over a white leather foundation. Notable features include heart-shaped alterations on the midfoot and collar, replacing the usual circular embellishments. A single gold heart is positioned below the middle eyelet, suggesting possible customization options, and it seems there might be a Velcro patch on the collar as well.

On October 18th, we can anticipate the unveiling of the Air Jordan 6, together with the 2024 Doernbecher Freestyle series which includes an Air Max Sunder, Air 180, two color variations of the Air Max Dn, and an Air Pegasus 41. These sneakers are expected to be released before the end of this year.
