As a long-time basketball enthusiast and collector of sneakers, I can hardly contain my excitement over the upcoming release of the Nike Ja 2 “Nightmare.” Having followed Ja Morant’s meteoric rise to fame since his days at Murray State, it’s been a pleasure to see him make an impact on the NBA and now, in the world of footwear.
Product: Nike Air Jordan 2 “Nightmare”
As a die-hard basketball fan and proud owner of the Nike Ja 1, I’ve been eagerly waiting for Ja Morant’s next move with Nike Basketball since it’s been over a year now. The Nike Ja 1, his first signature shoe, was a hit in the hooping community due to its sleek design and budget-friendly $110 USD price tag, making it Nike’s most affordable basketball sneaker at the time.
In our first glance at the Nike Ja 2 “Nightmare“, it appears that Morant is once again part of Nike Basketball’s yearly collection themed for Halloween, following last year’s release of the Ja 1 in a “Halloween” colorway. This new edition showcases an intriguing blend of spooky motifs. On the dubrae, there’s a silver grille-like design that says “MORANT”, while the heel features what appears to be zombie hands reaching up and a cat’s eye. The color scheme consists primarily of “University Red” throughout the sneaker, with “Celestial Gold” accentuating the branding and “Black” wrapping around the heel and a section of the midsole.
As I type this, it’s been confirmed that the release date for the Nike Ja 2 has not been disclosed by Nike yet. Keep an eye out for news, including official images of the shoe design, as the “Nightmare” colorway is anticipated to go on sale near Halloween (October 25). This special edition will be available through Nike SNKRS and selected retailers at a price point of $130 USD.
