As a seasoned sneakerhead with decades under my belt, I can confidently say that the synergy between Patta and Nike never fails to impress me. Their latest collaboration, inspired by the iconic Air Max 1 “Waves” colorways from last year, is a testament to their innovative spirit and ability to consistently deliver high-quality designs.
After more than a decade of successful partnerships, the dynamic duo, Patta and Nike, continue to be a powerful force. This year saw them start with a running-themed collection which showcased the Air Huarache Plus, and they recently marked Patta’s 20th anniversary by revisiting their iconic Air Max 1 “Chlorophyll” design.
Recently, it has been disclosed that the new project revolving around the Air Max 90 shoe is drawing inspiration from the “Waves” colorways series of Air Max 1, which debuted in 2021. A sneak peek of this upcoming collaboration between Patta and Nike shows that the Air Max 90, celebrating its 35th anniversary next year, will feature a unique black mudguard designed like waves, reminiscent of their previous Air Max 1 project. The color scheme comprises a silver upper with accents of black, blue, and off-white at the midsole, while the tongue tag bears blue Patta branding.
Currently, neither Patta nor Nike have given a release date for the “Waves” colorway of the Air Max 90. Keep an eye out for updates, including official images, as we anticipate the shoes to become available some time next year through Nike SNKRS and various retailers worldwide.
