First Look: FAT International x BSTN Icy Air Jordan XI “Legend Blue”

As a lifelong sneaker enthusiast and a passionate car aficionado, I can hardly contain my excitement over the BSTN x FAT International Air Jordan XI “Legend Blue” collaboration! Growing up in Munich, BSTN has always been a staple of the local sneaker scene, providing me with some of my favorite kicks throughout the years. The fact that they’ve partnered with trend-setting motorsports brand FAT International and FC Bayern München star Leroy Sané for this project is simply mind-blowing!

BSTN and FAT International have revealed their latest collaboration, the Air Jordan XI “Legend Blue.” In a campaign as icy as the shoe’s translucent outsole, the two brands have teamed up to create a bespoke Porsche 911 Dakar that mirrors the sneaker’s iconic design, while also spotlighting FC Bayern München star Leroy Sané as the campaign’s headliner.

Significantly, BSTN reimagines the Air Jordan XI beyond the basketball court. In collaboration with FAT International, a pioneering motorsports company led by Ferdi Porsche, the campaign showcases the sneaker’s icy-blue accents and checkerboard carbon fiber pattern on a customized Dakar vehicle. The car’s design reflects Tinker Hatfield’s iconic 1996 design, which was first unveiled at the NBA All-Star Game and continues to be a cultural landmark.

Porsche expressed great excitement about the project. Being a longtime sneaker enthusiast, it’s a special feeling to be involved with this campaign linking a brand that produced some of my favorite shoes and my childhood store in Munich. It feels like coming full circle,” Porsche told TopMob. Furthermore, “Since MJ has a reputation for his passion for racing and stylish vehicles, I believe ‘FAT Jumpman’ could be a fitting reference!

In a fresh development, the partnership will lead to the Porsche 911 Dakar participating in the 2025 Ice Race held in Zell am See, Austria. With its cold landscape illuminated by February’s winter magic, the race presents an entirely different scene compared to the Air Jordan XI’s initial appearance under the Texas sun. For those eager to own a pair, the Legend Blue XIs are scheduled for release on December 14 at BSTN stores in Munich, Hamburg, and London, also available on their official website.
