Over the last few months, Blake Lively has found herself in a legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, a colleague from their upcoming 2024 movie “It Ends with Us.” Both parties have made accusations against each other that persist. Despite this, Lively is gearing up for another film release – the follow-up to “A Simple Favor” – where she reteams with director Paul Feig and co-star Anna Kendrick. At the premiere of this new project at SXSW, Kendrick appeared somewhat uncomfortable when asked about working with Lively once more.
At South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, Anna Kendrick met fans and signed autographs, as captured on video by Entertainment Tonight and posted to Instagram. During her promotional tour for “Another Simple Favor”, ET interviewed her about reuniting with Blake Lively. When asked what it meant to her, Kendrick simply responded with a short statement that has since become widely popular online: “[Three-word answer]”.
Oh, you know.
Certainly, it’s impossible for us to know with absolute certainty what the director of Woman of the Hour was thinking at that specific moment. However, we can speculate, given the circumstances, that she might be cautious when addressing questions about her co-star. You can watch the video below to observe this yourself:

As a passionate movie enthusiast, I can’t help but share some recent developments concerning Blake Lively. In December, she brought forward a legal claim against Justin Baldoni, who was both director and co-star in “It Ends with Us”. Lively asserted that Baldoni subjected her and others to sexual harassment on set, and furthermore, she accused him of collaborating with a PR firm to tarnish her reputation through a smear campaign. In response to these allegations, Baldoni has denied them vehemently and has taken the step to file a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, her husband (Ryan Reynolds), and others for supposed defamation and extortion. Prior to this, Lively had already filed a suit against Baldoni based on the same claims she made in her initial legal complaint.
Regarding a potential sequel to A Simple Favor, there’s been little word from the cast and team about the lead actress’ legal troubles. However, director Paul Feig has spoken up against claims that the movie is being put on hold due to her court case drama, labeling it as “nonsense.” He also clarified the film’s post-production timeline.
As the release of the movie approaches in May, it’s highly probable that Anna Kendrick, Paul Feig, and their team will conduct more media interviews. However, the specific way they’ll discuss their collaboration during these interviews is yet to be determined. At this moment, we can only speculate based on a somewhat reserved comment from Anna Kendrick.
The movie titled “Another Simple Favor” is scheduled for release on May 1, and it can be streamed if you have an active Prime Video subscription.
