Ford Gives Its New Bronco a Retro Touch With the “Free Wheeling Package”

As a long-time fan of off-road vehicles and classic designs, I must say that Ford’s new 2025 Bronco Free Wheeling package has me absolutely thrilled! Growing up in the ’70s and ’80s, I remember the bold and vibrant Free Wheeling trucks roaring down our dusty roads, and now to see that spirit reborn on this modern-day Bronco is simply fantastic.

Ford is adding a vintage flair to the new Bronco via the Free Wheeling appearance package, introducing vibrant hues to its legendary off-roader. Drawing inspiration from the Free Wheeling pickups, vans, and Broncos of the late ’70s and early ’80s, this package offers a contemporary interpretation of an old-school aesthetic.

The updated Free Wheeling bundle takes inspiration from its past by including the same energetic red, orange, and yellow designs that characterized Ford’s initial Free Wheeling collection. As an optional addition for the Big Bend model, this package showcases reflective stripes along the body sides, silver-toned door handles, and a distinctive Iconic Silver grille decorated with the bold “BRONCO” emblem, highlighted by a red border and a white center.

Steve Gilmore, the chief designer of Ford Vehicle Personalization, noted that Bronco embodies fun and capability from the start, and Free Wheeling takes it a step further with its sunset-evoking beach style aesthetic. He emphasized that this design maintains its original essence while incorporating modern fashion and graphic trends.

For the 2025 Bronco, the Free Wheeling package comes equipped with 17-inch gloss-black steel wheels as standard. However, if you choose the Sasquatch package, it offers upgraded 17-inch gloss-black wheels featuring a machined rim and red accents instead. Inside the vehicle, you’ll find distinctive seats crafted from Marine-Grade Vinyl and fabric, which coordinate with the exterior stripe colors.

For a vintage touch, customers have the option to select a Shadow Black painted roof (additional cost) along with the standard soft top and removable hardtop that comes in various colors. Information about pricing and availability for the 2025 Bronco Free Wheeling can be found on Ford’s official website or through authorized dealers.
