Ford unveiled a NASCAR prototype of the Mustang Mach-E, an all-electric racing vehicle designed to test and advance the boundaries of electric motor sports technology.
This upcoming concept vehicle will be part of Ford’s elite high-performance showcase, which already includes the SuperTruck, SuperVan 4.2, and Super Cobra Jet 1800. It merges NASCAR Cup Series technology with advanced electric vehicle performance. Important elements taken from the current NASCAR Cup Series car are its suspension, brakes, steering, and wheels.
Beneath its exterior, the Mach-E prototype houses a triple-motor system fueled by an 78 kWh battery, providing immediate power and swift speed. Additionally, its full carbon-fiber frame increases both structural strength and lightweight design, crucial aspects for optimal performance in high-speed races.
As an enthusiast, I can’t help but be thrilled by the sight of this Mustang Mach-E NASCAR prototype, even though Ford hasn’t officially confirmed if it points towards electric racing in NASCAR. Regardless, this vehicle symbolizes Ford’s unwavering dedication to high-performance Electric Vehicles (EVs). Whether it competes on the track or not, the Mustang Mach-E NASCAR prototype is another significant step forward in Ford’s electrification odyssey.
