In a potential turn of events in 2024, Donna Kelce could dethrone Lacey Chabert as the Queen of Hallmark Christmas movies by starring in not one but two holiday films, “Holiday Touchdown: A Chief’s Love Story” and “Christmas on Call”. However, it seems that the 2025 festive season might shift focus to another well-known family: the Jonases.
Based on photos published by TMZ, Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas, and Priyanka Chopra were all seen on a snow-covered set in Toronto, Canada. The pictures depict each member of the Jonas family wrapped up in black coats as they stroll from their trailers towards an unspecified filming location. Although Kevin Jonas hasn’t been photographed yet, there are whispers that he will also be involved in the upcoming Christmas production, which currently lacks a title.
There’s not much information available about this project other than it being a Christmas movie being made for Disney+. As an ardent Jonas Brothers fan, I must admit that the news initially raised some doubts in me. After all, it’s been quite a while since the three brothers have acted together – their last joint performance was back in 2010 with the airing of “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” and the wrapping up of their sitcom “JONAS LA”. Regardless of the fact that some of their best songs come from this series, none of them have particularly fond memories associated with its production.
It appears as though the brothers and Chopra are filming something that could be a festive celebration for the band’s 20-year anniversary, which they started showcasing on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest – another event commemorating its 20th year. However, this might not be a holiday special as ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D actress Chloe Bennet was also seen on set, suggesting that this project could instead be a complete original Christmas movie.
It’s quite logical for the Jonas Brothers to reconnect with their Disney background as they mark two decades as a band. This move also seems smart on the part of the streaming service, as it aims to regain its position in the Christmas movie market after not producing a new original film in 2024. As a devoted Jonas Brothers fan and an aficionado of Christmas movies, I’m definitely looking forward to this prospective project and will be ready to watch it the moment it comes out.
2025 looks set to be an action-packed year for the Jonas family. Kicking things off, they’ve revealed that they will drop a new single titled “Slow Motion” with Marshmello on January 17th. To make it even more exciting, they hinted at a fresh world tour to celebrate their significant milestone. Furthermore, their youngest member is expected to reappear on Broadway this Spring in the short-run production of The Last Five Years. Joe, too, has plans to launch new music as a solo artist by the end of 2025, following the delay of his 2024 album.
It’s undecided whether the untitled Christmas film will be completed in time for the 2025 movie lineup, but stay tuned for more information. In the interim, take a look at the camaraderie between the brothers by streaming ‘Camp Rock’ or ‘JONAS LA’ on Disney+ with an active subscription. Additionally, I recommend watching Priyanka Chopra in Netflix’s ‘Love Again’, a film that also features her spouse Nick.
