In a nutshell, some Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) villains, such as Loki and Thanos, have gained widespread fame and acclaim beyond their initial appearances and even surpassing the heroes they clashed with. However, others, like Malekith and Gorr the God Butcher, were overshadowed by poor scripting and subpar films. A third category exists, which includes Benicio Del Toro’s The Collector, a villain who was introduced in earlier MCU movies but hasn’t yet had his moment to truly shine as Marvel Comics fans anticipate. Del Toro portrayed The Collector for the first time in James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” in 2014 and has made occasional appearances since then within the MCU, but the character has yet to receive the limelight that is expected of him. Nevertheless, the actor hinted recently that more from The Collector might be on the horizon.
