Former FTX Boss Ryan Salame Set for Conviction on May 28

On May 28, a New York court is expected to find Ryan Salame, the former head of FTX, guilty and pass sentence upon him, following his admission of criminal wrongdoing.

Salame admitted to violating election laws and operating an unlicensed money transfer business. As reported by the prosecution, over 300 contributions totaling millions of dollars were made by Salame and his accomplices through the use of straw donors and corporate funds.

People called “straw donors” deceive the system by making political contributions with someone else’s money, using their own name instead.

recently, the founder of FTX, Bankman-Fried, was given a prison sentence of 24 years by the court for perpetrating fraud. The judge, Kaplan, accused Bankman-Fried of lying during the trial and used his false statements, which he knew to be incorrect, as evidence.
