Former UTA Comms Exec Matt Leonard Lands at Initial Group, Untitled

Matt Leonard, previously a corporate communications manager at UTA, has been brought on board by Initial Group and Untitled Entertainment in the role of Vice President of Corporate Communications.

At UTA, Leonard managed communications for the film and television branches of the talent agency. His exit from this Hollywood firm coincides with a leadership transition at UTA, as Jeremy Zimmer, one of the co-founders and CEO, announced he would relinquish his position to allow David Kramer to take over as his replacement.

At UTA as well, Richard Siklos, who was both a partner and the chief communications officer, left the agency in January 2025. In his new position, Leonard will now lead the corporate communications for Initial Group, a company supported by TPG that specializes in talent management, and Untitled Entertainment, a firm dedicated to actors.

Richard Siklos, who held dual roles as partner and chief communications officer at UTA, departed the agency in January 2025. Now, Leonard has taken over the lead for corporate communications at Initial Group, a TPG-backed company that concentrates on talent management, and Untitled Entertainment, an organization specifically catering to actors.

Leonard expressed excitement in a statement about this significant growth period for Initial Group and Untitled. He’s eager to be part of the team and shape our corporate communication plan, strengthening connections with media and business partners, and boosting the achievements of our leaders, managers, and clients. I can’t wait to contribute to sharing the narrative of our current state and future direction.

Prior to joining UTA, Leonard held the position of Senior Communications Manager at the Sundance Institute. In a statement, Michel Pratte, the CEO of Initial Group, expressed that Leonard’s impressive background in strategic communications will be indispensable as the company expands, saying “Matt brings a robust history of strategic communication skills that will prove vital for our future growth.

In 2024, TPG took over the majority ownership of Untitled via Initial Group. Following this, Initial Group and Untitled collectively purchased Grandview, a company specializing in literary management. Both companies were subsequently consolidated under the Untitled brand.
