Following much anticipation, the future of Family Guy, American Dad, Bob’s Burgers, and another unnamed series has now been officially clarified. Fox announced a significant wave of renewals for these four well-loved adult animated shows. Each show has secured a four-season extension, with American Dad making its way back to the network after spending time on TBS.
Michael Thorn, president of Fox Television Network, commented on this latest agreement, expressing its ongoing celebration of these timeless comedies’ popularity, and the lasting partnership we share with 20th Television Animation, Seth MacFarlane, and other talented creators, as well as the voice actors who bring these modern classics to life.
Rob Wade, CEO of Fox Entertainment, stated, “The length of this contract demonstrates our dedication to the strong partnership we’ve forged with Disney’s outstanding team. This alliance has been and will be instrumental in creating significant long-term value, as well as expanding audiences from Fox to Hulu to fans globally.
The upcoming seasons will take these four shows to extraordinary heights, a feat that’s hard to believe given their tumultuous pasts. For instance, Bob’s Burgers is set to reach its 19th season at the end of this run, a remarkable achievement despite being canceled twice. Family Guy, which has also faced cancellations, will make it to Season 27. American Dad will go up to Season 23, and The Simpsons, a record-breaking phenomenon, is poised to continue through its 40th season.
