The process for Frank Ocean‘s initial filmmaking venture is now underway, as reported by Variety. According to the publication, Ocean has commenced filming for his directorial debut in Mexico City.
Though many aspects of the independent movie are yet to be revealed, such as its plot, release date, and cast list, it is confirmed that David Jonsson will take on the lead role. Notably, Jonsson has recently appeared in “Alien: Romulus” and “Rye Lane.
As anticipated, the mysterious Ocean has kept a low profile following the release of his album “Blonde.” He briefly emerged into the limelight for a one-day performance at Coachella in 2023, as well as the launch of his Homer jewelry collection and the publication of his 48-page photobook titled “Mutations.
Since the songs “Dear April (Side A – Acoustic)” and “Cayendo (Side A – Acoustic)”, which were both released in 2020, he hasn’t put out a new studio track yet.
Stay tuned as more updates on Ocean’s directoral debut transpire.
