As a gamer, I can relate to Frankie Muniz in many ways, especially when it comes to the impact of fame and success on one’s personal life. Just like him, I too have had moments where I was propelled into the spotlight, and it wasn’t always easy to balance the demands of my career with the needs of my family and loved ones.
Frankie Muniz is opening up about the affect his child-star fame had on him and his family.
On the latest episode of the “Inside of You” podcast, the actor from “Malcolm in the Middle” reminisced that as his career began to flourish, it put stress on his family since they were required to relocate to another part of the country.
Prior to landing a role on a popular TV series, Muniz experienced his parents’ divorce and opted to reside with his mother in New Jersey. Initially, his sister dwelt with their father, but later joined her mom as well. However, just before he secured the part of Malcolm, they had to relocate again, which created an “unusual situation.
For the very first time, Muniz reflected deeply on the past, contemplating the sacrifices others had made, and this reflection left him feeling quite sorrowful,” (paraphrased sentence)
Consequently, his stint on Malcolm brought him an Emmy nomination and two Golden Globe mentions. This success in television further opened doors for him to secure film roles such as Big Fat Liar, Agent Cody Banks, Deuces Wild, and Racing Stripes.
At 38 years old, I find myself with a newfound gratitude for my family’s unwavering support. Moreover, I acknowledge the crucial role my grandparents played in raising my sister when she needed them most.
Muniz stated that they were incredibly eager to assist and take on any tasks necessary for them to be free to accompany him wherever he needed to go in order to carry out his responsibilities. This was a surprising epiphany he experienced this year, although it seems quite extraordinary.
Muniz also conceded that his life might have taken a completely different course without their assistance, “I’m grateful to have such individuals in my life, but it’s almost unbelievable to think that without their support, perhaps none of this would have happened. Do you understand what I’m saying? It’s quite an astonishing thought.
