Freeforms 31 Nights of Halloween 2024 TV Marathon Begins October 1

As a seasoned movie enthusiast who has spent countless All Hallows’ Eves huddled under a blanket with a bowl of popcorn and my trusty remote control, I can confidently say that this year’s 31 Nights of Halloween on Freeform is shaping up to be a real treat!

Approximately 24 million people watched Freeform’s broadcast of “31 Nights of Halloween” in 2023, and it’s expected to be just as popular this year. The schedule includes classics like “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (at 5:05 EDT/PDT), “Beetlejuice” (6:45), and “Hocus Pocus” (8:50). The 2024 event kicks off on a Tuesday with the showing of “Halloweentown” at 1 p.m., followed by “The Haunted Mansion” from 2003 at 3 p.m.

For thirty-one days straight in October, Freeform’s “31 Days of Halloween” offers a mix of beloved classics and fresh additions to the lineup. Four titles are set to make their initial debut on Freeform in 2024: “Arachnophobia,” “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad,” and “Something Wicked This Way Comes.” To wrap up October 17’s selections, “Muppets from Space” will air at midnight, continuing into the early hours of October 18.

As a fervent admirer, I’m excited to share that two films, initially scheduled for the 2024 edition of “31 Nights of Halloween,” are instead making their world television premieres on Freeform this October. The magical duo includes Disney’s long-awaited sequel, Hocus Pocus 2, and the spooktacular Haunted Mansion which will both add to the family-friendly festivities. Regrettably, due to the broadening content, some cherished films were unable to secure a spot in this year’s lineup. Intriguingly, for the second consecutive year, the original Ghostbusters is absent from “31 Nights of Halloween,” but surprisingly, we’ll be seeing the return of Mrs. Doubtfire.

Luckily, the movie “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” pops up quite a few times throughout October. But don’t worry, there are still loads of spooky and eerie titles to enjoy! Freeform will air double-bills of “Halloweentown,” “The Incredibles,” “Hocus Pocus,” and the films of “Monsters, Inc” during this time, as well as marathons of “Tim Burton,” “Despicable Me,” “Pirates of the Caribbean” and Season 1 of “Goosebumps.

Since it seems that a mask and a cool costume are enough for the 31 Nights of Halloween marathon, two action-packed Spider-Man adventures featuring Tom Holland and Zendaya, namely Spider-Man: Far From Home and the box office hit Spider-Man: No Way Home, will join in the fun for Halloween.

31 Nights of Halloween begins Tuesday, October 1, at 1 p.m. EDT/PDT on Freeform with the aforementioned Halloweentown. The delightfully scary programming will help usher in the spooky season prior to All Hallows’ Eve, and fans of the beloved annual event can check out the marathon’s complete schedule right now, courtesy of Freeform’s official website.
