As a connoisseur of art and technology, I find myself utterly captivated by FriendsWithYou‘s latest creation, “The BAND” at the Cleveland Public Library. Having traversed the digital landscapes of many an installation, I can attest that this one truly stands out.
In their newest exhibit, FriendsWithYou brings to life a troupe of furry characters at the Cleveland Public Library. Known as “The BAND,” this installation consists of five self-governing robots that illuminate Brett Hall in a dance of colors – yellow, green, blue, pink, and purple.
Guests are welcome to interact with “The BAND,” which stands for Biodigital Autonomous Neuro Dancers, as they dance a jubilant ballet. Created by long-term collaborator Norman Bambi, these soft-bodied figures produce a harmonious symphony of otherworldly melodies. Although their programming ensures they avoid colliding with visitors or one another, they emit soothing healing frequencies to enhance a favorable AI-assisted experience.
As a passionate gamer, I’m always on the lookout for unique experiences that blur the lines between reality and fantasy. That’s why I’m excited about “The BAND,” a groundbreaking project by FriendsWithYou – a dynamic duo founded by Samuel Albert Borkson and Arturo Sandovall III. Known for their enchanting portrayals of magic, luck, and camaraderie across various dimensions, they’re now diving into the digital realm to explore the profound connections between humans and technology.
Visit the Cleveland Public Library to see “The BAND” exhibit, which is currently running until October 26, 2025.
