As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for fashion that often reflects my eclectic taste in video games, I can’t help but be drawn to this unique collaboration between Fucking Awesome and UNITED ARROWS & SONS. The mid-century Japanese cinema vibe is right up my alley, reminiscent of the nostalgic pixel art from classic games like Final Fantasy VII or Street Fighter II.
Fucking Awesome has partnered with Japanese retailer UNITED ARROWS & SONS for a special edition two-piece suit inspired by mid-century Japanese cinema. Even while going an unconventional route, the collaboration maintains the ironic choices Fucking Awesome has become known for. Founder Jason Dill is found in the campaign sporting the matching number with an open white shirt and a snakeskin belt, showing peeks of the classic Fucking Awesome logo hiding within.
The suit, consisting of a blazer and pants, is crafted from a traditional pinstripe wool serge material. Japanese retro influence is evident in the wide lapels on the jacket and generous pleats in the pants. To keep things straightforward, the creative duo presents two color options: black and light gray. A subtle “Fucking Awesome” logo is subtly placed on the entire lining of the trousers and also appears at the back of the jacket collar.
In August, I was absolutely thrilled when Fucking Awesome unveiled their latest partnership with Converse. This time around, they introduced a striking blacked-out version of the iconic Chuck Taylor All-Star High-Top shoe. To add a touch of subtlety, the logo was cleverly placed peeking out from the soles.
Collaboration kicks off at the Shibuya Parco pop-up on October 16, followed by its online debut at UNITED ARROWS & SONS webstore on October 25.
