As a passionate fan of Furlan Marri, an innovative Swiss watch brand, I’m thrilled to share that they have recently unveiled their latest addition – the Disco Volante series. This is not just a temporary collection but a permanent fixture in their lineup, promising classic vintage timepieces with a fresh, contemporary twist.
At the launch of this new line, we discover three distinct watches: Disco Celeste, Disco Verde, and Havana Disco. These timepieces share a sleek 38mm case and a thickness of 8.95mm. Design-wise, they evoke an Art Deco feeling with a hint of the ’80s. The name of this series draws inspiration from the Italian term for “flying saucer,” reflecting its circular watch face and contributing to the collection’s unique character.
The blue and white face of Disco Celeste glows brilliantly with BGW9 Super-LumiNova in dim lighting. In contrast, Disco Verde boasts a timeless sophistication with its green and cream design, featuring Old Radium Super-LumiNova accents that amplify its vintage charm. Lastly, Havana Disco showcases a soft salmon hue as its primary color, complemented by brown details.
The Peseux 7001, an exquisite manual-winding movement from Swiss Manufacture, Fabrique d’ébauches de Peseux SA, lies at the core of these latest timepieces. Known for its thinness and reliability, this caliber, which can be traced back to the 1950s, has undergone continuous refinement to meet contemporary horological requirements. It offers a power reserve of 42 hours, operates at a vibrant frequency of 21,600 vph, and boasts impressive water resistance of 5 ATM, protected by its sapphire crystal back.
