As a dedicated fan of “Shōgun,” I couldn’t contain my excitement when FX Chairman John Langdraf shared some insight into the progress of its upcoming second season. The show’s impressive 25 Emmy nominations this year, including for Best Drama Series and Best Directing for a Drama Series, only fueled my anticipation further.
John Langdraf, head of FX, provided some new information about the upcoming second season of “Shogun” following its record-breaking recognition with multiple Emmy Award nominations.
In an interview with Variety, the executive shared that Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo are actively working on the project along with the other writers. We anticipate starting production around the beginning of next year, but it’s a lengthy process. The show required between 180 and 190 days of filming, which could have even approached 200 days.
As an assistant to a game developer working on the next season of our favorite game, I can tell you that filming is expected to last around six months. This means that Season 2 might not drop as soon as some fans may have hoped for. The specifics about the plot are still under wraps and haven’t been shared with us yet.
I was thrilled to learn that my favorite series racked up an impressive 25 Emmy nominations this year! Among them were recognitions for Best Drama Series and Best Directing for a Drama Series – how exciting is that?
