G-SHOCK has revealed two DW-5600 timepieces that incorporate renowned ukiyo-e prints by Katsushika Hokusai. These timepieces highlight famous pieces from the artist’s celebrated “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji” series, with one version showcasing “The Great Wave off Kanagawa,” and another featuring “Fine Wind, Clear Morning.
The LED backlight clearly displays the Japanese characters for “Japan” in kanji, and the caseback features a carved version of the brand’s logo – emphasizing the timepiece’s cultural roots.
Moreover, the watch is manufactured in Japan, underscoring the importance placed on construction and skillful design. Every model arrives in unique packaging mirroring the artwork on their corresponding watch faces.
Coming out in Japan towards the end of this month, you can expect to buy two Hokusai DW-5600 watches for 17,600 JPY (approximately $112 USD). For further details, visit G-SHOCK’s official site.
