GameSir Announces New G8+ Bluetooth Gaming Controller

As a seasoned gamer with decades of thumb-blistering, eye-straining experiences under my belt, I must say, the new GameSir G8+ has caught my attention like a rare Pokémon in the wild. The retro charm of the G8 was undeniable, but the upgrade to wireless Bluetooth and a sleek black aesthetic has this old dog yearning for some new tricks.

GameSir has recently unveiled an improved model of its highly acclaimed mobile gaming controller, the G8+ Galileo, which supersedes the previous G8 version. Unlike its predecessor, which connected via USB-C, the G8+ operates on battery power and utilizes Bluetooth for wireless connection, broadening its compatibility with various devices.

The updated G8+ model showcases a streamlined black design, offering a more contemporary aesthetic in contrast to the vintage, Nintendo-esque grays and purples of its predecessor, the G8. GameSir has carried over many of the G8’s popular features, such as the responsive Hall Effect joysticks and ergonomic design, which made the original model a delight to use. However, this latest version boasts some novel additions exclusive to the G8+. These include a six-axis gyroscope that enables compatibility with the Nintendo Switch and other motion-controlled devices, as well as new rumble motors (a feature absent in the previous model) for a heightened sense of immersion.

As a passionate gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the controller with ABXY face buttons boasting a five million-click lifespan and comfortable, highly responsive analog L and R triggers catches my eye. Moreover, the presence of two back buttons that can be customized to suit my preferences using the GameSir app is an added advantage.

The updated G8+ controller boasts a broader expanse, capable of holding devices up to 215 mm wide, unlike its predecessor which could only accommodate devices up to 185 mm. This newfound width allows it to be compatible with the Nintendo Switch and smaller tablets, an ability that was previously unattainable due to both the size limitation and the built-in USB-C connector, which sometimes obstructed the mounting of incompatible devices.

Users are able to personalize their G8+ controller by using magnetic and interchangeable faceplates, a feature that GameSir has incorporated into the design. Although this feature was available on the previous G8 model, only the controller itself was sold; now, with the emphasis GameSir has placed on this aspect in their recent press release, it seems they will soon offer separate faceplate options for purchase – keep an eye out for updates from us.

You can purchase the GameSir G8+ right now through either Amazon or the manufacturer’s official site, with a price tag of $79.99 USD, £79.99 GBP, or €89.99 EUR.
