Garmin recently introduced the Instinct 3 Series, a new lineup of tough, sports-oriented smartwatches. This series includes multiple models and choices, one of which boasts an extraordinary claim: indefinite battery life.
The newly introduced watches come in two sizes (45mm and 50mm) and offer two distinct screen choices. One of these is a brand-new always-on AMOLED display, boasting a vibrant, high-quality screen and an impressive battery life of up to 24 days on a single charge. The alternative option brings back the favored solar-powered screens from the Instinct 2 Series. Notably, battery life is the primary distinction between these two options. The solar-powered watch provides unlimited power (given there’s enough light) without requiring cables for charging. Garmin claims that the new Instinct 3 Solar outperforms its predecessor by more than five times in terms of battery life, although this may vary depending on the watch mode being used.
Garmin’s latest watch collection is engineered specifically for thrill-seekers, meeting the rigorous MIL-STD-810 standard set by the U.S. Military. These watches are crafted with tough fiber-reinforced polymer cases and robust metal bezels, offering enhanced durability. The brand boasts that their screens are resistant to scratches. Each model can withstand water pressure up to 100 meters and comes equipped with a built-in flashlight, which offers multiple intensities including red light and strobe settings for use in dark environments.
The Instinct 3 Series offers additional features such as Garmin Pay for convenient contactless payments, enhanced multi-band GPS with SatIQ for better accuracy and battery conservation, step counter, heart rate and heart rate variability measurement, advanced sleep analysis, and wrist-based Pulse Ox2 sensor. Additionally, it caters to women’s health needs by providing menstrual cycle tracking functionality.
Currently, the Instinct 3 Series comes in four color options: “Black”, a combination of “Black” and “Charcoal”, “Neotropic”, and “Neotropic” paired with “Twilight”. The price range starts from £349.99 GBP or $399.99 USD.
