Gayle King Is “Not Focusing” on Blue Origin Backlash and Would “Consider” Going Back to Space: “I’m Definitely Open to It”

In spite of the ongoing debate about the recent Blue Origin journey, Gayle King carries herself with great dignity.

King stated to The Hollywood Reporter at the Time 100 Gala that he’s choosing to overlook any potential criticism. Instead, he emphasized that they accomplished something truly remarkable, and everyone involved feels proud and courageous about their actions. He believes in the impact it’s having on young women, girls, and even some boys, so he’s choosing to focus on the positive rather than dwelling on negativity.

If queried about her plans for future space travel, King responded, “I won’t be going back right away, but I’d certainly consider it.

The Time 100 recipient shared that she experienced a sense of security during her trip, despite its potentially hazardous nature. Accompanying her were singer Katy Perry, Lauren Sánchez (fiancée of Jeff Bezos), film producer Kerianne Flynn, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, and research scientist Amanda Nguyen. This group became the first all-female crew to embark on such a journey.

Upon learning about their journey to space, Olivia Munn expressed her viewpoint as “extravagant” and voiced her curiosity about the women’s appearance on the cover of Elle magazine. She questioned the purpose, saying, “What are they achieving? Essentially, why?” Munn then expressed her bewilderment, stating, “There are numerous critical issues in the world at this moment. What will you accomplish up there in space?

Model-actress Emily Ratajkowski voiced criticism about the journey, expressing her feelings as “disgusted” on her TikTok.
