As someone who has spent countless hours traversing the vast landscapes of Teyvat, I can confidently say that each region presents its unique challenges and rewards for exploration-minded adventurers like myself. Among these areas, the one that truly stands out for me is the enigmatic Seirai Island in Inazuma. Its perpetual thunderstorms, electrified hazards, and hidden underground areas make it a true test of my skills as an explorer.
In Genshin Impact, there’s a wide range of activities to engage in, and one that stands out for its thrill is Exploration. Completely exploring every corner of the game world can be quite rewarding, but it’s important to note that not all locations offer the same level of challenge. Some areas are significantly tougher to explore fully than others.
Traversing the realm of Teyvat is no walk in the park, as it presents players with numerous challenges such as puzzles, foes, items, and raw materials. Yet, it rewards them handsomely with useful resources like Primogems, which can be utilized on Gacha pulls.
Having seven realms previously unveiled, adventurers find themselves with a wealth of places to delve into. For those craving a formidable test, here are ten tough locales where reaching 100% exploration in Genshin Impact will truly put your skills to the test.
1. Dragonspine
Nestled within Mondstadt lies Dragonspine, formerly recognized as Vindagnyr – an expansive mountain range shrouded in age-old ruins and frosted peaks. The region also encompasses the remnants of Durin.
In Mondstadt, the snow remains perpetually, making it a place known for its severe cold and high danger levels.
In areas lacking heat sources, players risk freezing due to extreme cold if they’re not carrying a Scarlet Quartz or are not close enough to the Statue of the Seven’s waypoints. If left unattended, this could lead to their characters dying from the frost.
Furthermore, navigating Dragonspine proves challenging since the compass doesn’t function there, and the intricate indoor spaces and steep, difficult terrain add to the complexities. This region, in turn, becomes all the more tricky to traverse.
To completely explore every corner, players can either consult an interactive map or roam the region freely, discovering new locations as they go.
2. Inazuma’s Watatsumi Island
Watatsumi Island is an area in Inazuma, located at the farthest, opposite end of Narukami Island. It is known for its dense foliage and breathtaking colors.
However, something sinister hides behind its beauty.
As I delved into the depths of Watatsumi Island, I found myself navigating a labyrinth of challenging underwater riddles, diverse landscapes, and layered missions that made me feel like a true adventurer. The intricate design of this island only added to the thrill of exploration, as I was constantly on my toes, ready to unravel its many secrets.
That said, players must be patient to achieve 100% exploration here.
3. The Chasm
A subregion of Liyue, The Chasm is an entirely underground area with multiple layers that players must consider when navigating the map.
Because of the multiple levels, it can be simple for players to become disoriented, thus requiring careful observation as they delve into its depths. Additionally, its subterranean tunnels and intricate network of caves add to the difficulty of maneuvering through The Chasm.
Exploring this place thoroughly with its many concealed spots, varying terrain, and elusive oculi can take a lot of perseverance as they’re tricky to locate – but the reward is complete discovery!
Additionally, players need to employ the Lumenstone Adjuvant device, a useful tool that offers illumination and assists in solving the puzzles within this particular region.
To fully unleash a gadget’s capabilities, players should upgrade it using Lumenspar, which can be obtained, and then presented to an NPC called Jiwu.
4. Enkanomiya
Enkanomiya, originally known as Byakuyakoku and Tokoyokoku, is a region in Inazuma.
Venturing into this location isn’t exactly a walk in the park; delving deeper only heightens the adventure. You can find your way here by swimming through a rather profound pond situated to the east of Sangonomiya Shrine.
Underneath Watatsumi Island lies a place that has sparked theories suggesting it might be somewhat isolated from Teyvat, perhaps even belonging to the Dark Sea.
The shifting patterns of light and darkness in the submerged world influence how puzzles are solved and how we navigate through it.
Players need to keep a close eye on where they’re going to prevent getting disoriented, and there are three hidden islands that can be found once certain conditions are met.
These things make uncovering all of Enkanomiya’s secrets a big challenge.
5. Sumeru
Renowned as Teyvat’s center of learning, Sumeru features both deserts and forests.
In this expansive area, there are numerous smaller sections, which makes it one of the toughest regions within Teyvat to fully explore and reach 100%.
Although forests tend to be navigable, deserts pose a distinctly unique set of difficulties. Buried within them are countless subterranean locations that may prove baffling to traverse unless specific in-world missions have been accomplished first.
Multiple regions and challenges are concealed within world quests, such as the renowned Aranara quest. Completing these areas makes for quite a notable accomplishment on its own.
6. Tsurumi Island
Another area located in Inazuma is Tsurumi Island, known for being shrouded in dense fog.
The area is where two old civilizations once thrived, namely the Pre-Bird and Bird Civilizations. Following some rebirth and renewal, it’s now populated by hillchurls, rift wolves, and mechanical beings.
Navigating Tsurumi Island has become quite difficult due to its reduced visibility and deceptive enemy positions.
As a gamer, I find that the ever-evolving eco-riddles, which only shift once I’ve wrapped up specific missions, really crank up the heat when it comes to aiming for a complete exploration of this game world.
It requires quite some time for players to eventually finish their quests in this location.
7. Inazuma’s Seirai Island
A part of Inazuma, specifically Seirai Island, has been reportedly stricken by a catastrophe. This central region is constantly shrouded in an unending storm, which contributes to the island’s distinctive landscape.
It is often afflicted by Balethunder, causing lightning to target players. Electrified water also persists, although it can be cleared by completing a nearby puzzle, which plays a significant role later on.
In other words, due to its stormy condition and electrically dangerous features, navigating or exploring Seirai Island can prove challenging.
Exploring 100% of the island Inazuma proves particularly challenging due to its intricate network of secret subterranean passages as well.
Therefore, if players manage to complete this area, they can surely conquer everything.
8. Mondstadt’s Stomterror’s Lair
Stormterror’s Lair is a subarea located in Brightcrown Mountains, Mondstadt.
As a dedicated fan, I can tell you that this once grand city of Mondstadt, the old capital, is safeguarded by a formidable storm wall. This barrier keeps adventurers like myself from gaining entry until we’ve accomplished the Archon Quest challenge in Prologue: Act III – Song of the Dragon and Freedom.
Exploring Stormterror’s Lair requires a blend of creativity and sharp observation due to its unique features such as suspended platforms, towering structures, and breakable walls, making it a challenge even for experienced players.
While it might be challenging for some to fully explore this place, discovering all its secret gems is undeniably worthwhile.
9. Fontaine
As a captivated traveler, I can’t help but sing praises for Fontaine, a place so breathtakingly beautiful it leaves me spellbound. The enchanting continental landscapes, particularly its stunning waterways, are truly the epitome of grace and elegance.
Though Fontaine might seem smaller compared to other central areas, it’s rich with opportunities for discovery.
Adventurers encounter land-based treasure chests and brain-teasers, which serve as steps towards embarking on a larger puzzle or quest by boarding an airship.
Alternatively, players will need to leverage different animal skills to conquer underwater riddles, which take the form of time-bound tasks and frequently guide them towards submerged caverns.
In the game of Fontaine, while discovering new territories is generally straightforward, it might be necessary for players to venture beneath the water’s surface if their search on land proves fruitless.
10. Golden Apple Archipelago
In Versions 1.6 and 2.8, the temporary summer region called the Golden Apple Islands, positioned to the east of Mondstadt, made its appearance.
Historically referred to as the Haar Islands, it’s composed of a collection of isles. At certain periods, this region showcased intricate, labyrinthine islands filled with brain-teasing puzzles, multiple-stage trials, and landscapes that constantly evolved, making navigation tricky.
Under the current time limits, it’s generally thought that only a few players would be able to fully explore this place.
Have any of these regions been investigated by you? Completely exploring them would likely make you among the top players of Genshin Impact.
