George Miller Teases Exciting New ‘Mad Max’ Script in the Works!

The movie titled “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” was well-received by critics but didn’t do as well at the box office. However, people really enjoyed the action-packed story of revenge, featuring Anya Taylor-Joy as a younger Furiosa, who was played by Charlize Theron in the movie “Fury Road“. Although the future of the Mad Max series is uncertain following the prequel’s theater performance, fans might be gearing up for another journey through the post-apocalyptic world.

In a chat with Vulture, George Miller shared some insights about his upcoming plans for another “Mad Max” movie. The seasoned director affirmed that he has another script prepared, but the timeline for a new sequel or prequel might be lengthy. He’s got numerous ideas waiting in the wings, not just for “Mad Max,” but also for other potential projects. Given his unique creative approach and the intricacies of filmmaking, it could potentially become his next project.

I’ve got another script to work on, but after years of storytelling, I have an overabundance of stories – not just ideas floating around in my mind, but fully-fledged screenplays or detailed notes that are ready for conversion into scripts. Essentially, I can be considered a professional daydreamer. As a child, this trait was perceived as a weakness: ‘George would perform better at school if he didn’t dream up so many stories’ was often noted on my report cards.

As a cinephile, there are numerous tales waiting to be told, one of which is the thrilling saga of Mad Max. Yet, if fortune should smile upon me in an unexpected manner, this might be my next venture. However, at present, I have two other projects that hold my interest strongly. Life in the world of cinema can be unpredictable; you never truly know what twists and turns await. One day, I might find myself ready to embark on this post-apocalyptic journey, but for now, let’s just wait and see as plans can change rapidly in this business.

More to come…
