Get Ready for a ‘Bigger and Darker’ Season 2 of Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Gentlemen’!

Even though The Gentlemen spin-off wasn’t initially included in Netflix’s 2025 lineup of movies and series, it’s coming back for a Season 2! This highly acclaimed show, with a fantastic response from both audiences and critics on Rotten Tomatoes, was an excellent continuation of the original movie, boasting a new cast led by James Bond fan favorite Theo James. With another season already confirmed, production on The Gentlemen will start earlier than anticipated. However, fans might not find it as enjoyable in the second round.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, actor Theo James discussed the upcoming season of “The Gentlemen”. He confirmed that filming for new episodes will take place this spring and hinted at a shift in tone for Season 2. While the first season was a lighthearted continuation reminiscent of the original movie, it appears director Ritchie is planning to take a different approach this time around. James suggested that Season 2 of “The Gentlemen” will be more “intense and ominous”, indicating an effort to refresh the series by taking it in a new direction.

In the spring, we launch the second season of “The Gentlemen,” which will be larger and more ominous than the first. Personally, I, along with creator Guy Ritchie, aimed to advance the series, and that is our goal. Although the first season was enjoyable, repeating the same formula might not be as entertaining, essentially speaking.

If “The Gentlemen” finishes shooting by the start of summer, it might appear on Netflix before year’s end; but fans may want to anticipate a release window around early 2026. Director Ritchie shows no signs of slowing down, transitioning from his Indiana Jones-style film with John Krasinski, “Fountain of Youth,” to his upcoming action-thriller “In the Grey,” starring Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Eiza González.

‘The Gentlemen’ Cast, Crew & Plot of Season 2

In a narrative titled “‘The Gentlemen’,” we meet Eddie (portrayed by Theo James), who assumes the role of Duke of Halstead following his father’s demise. Alongside his new title, Eddie also acquires the family’s expansive countryside property—hiding an enormous and illicit marijuana farm managed by the sophisticated yet merciless Susie (Kaya Scodelario) and her crime lord father Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone). Initially reluctant to engage in criminal activities, Eddie gradually grows fond of this lifestyle and finds an unforeseen collaborator in Susie as they confront some of the UK and Europe’s most notorious and humorously ruthless gangster families. By the conclusion of the initial eight episodes, Eddie secures his position as a joint owner—alongside Susie and Bobby—of the Glass family’s extensive cannabis business.

Although specifics about The Gentlemen Season 2’s plot are limited, actress Scodelario previously expressed a desire for the series to venture outside of England. She stated, “I’d love them to go abroad somewhere.” Once filming for the second season starts, fans will learn if the show decides to change its setting from England.
