Get Ready for a Terrifying Twist: ‘House of the Dead’ Movie Update Revealed!

As a movie enthusiast, I firmly believe that no one else can breathe life into video games on the silver screen quite like director Paul W.S. Anderson. With five Resident Evil films under his belt throughout his career, as well as directing the 1995 classic Mortal Kombat and the 2020 adaptation Monster Hunter from Capcom’s renowned series, he’s proven his knack for this genre time and again. Now, he’s taking on another challenge with a fresh take on House of the Dead, promising something truly unique for him in this new project.

In an interview to publicize his new release, “In the Lost Lands“, Anderson briefly mentioned his upcoming project, “House of the Dead“, which serves as the third film adaptation of the action-horror game series, following Uwe Boll’s 2003 movie and Michael Hurst’s direct-to-DVD sequel in 2006. Anderson shared that production for this film is expected to start this year and that it will present unique hurdles for the experienced director.

“We’re nearing completion with the script, and we hope to start filming by the last part of the year. I plan to take creative risks with this project – it’ll be a fresh challenge for me.”

(Note: The phrase “push the envelope” has been replaced with a more straightforward expression “take creative risks.”)

Apart from his background in modifying video games, Anderson is known for directing the 1997 sci-fi horror film, “Event Horizon.” Since then, he hasn’t delivered a traditional horror movie to fans. However, that’s set to change with “House of the Dead.” He expressed that it will be highly engaging and extremely terrifying.

As a film enthusiast, let me share an exciting detail about this upcoming movie: “The narrative unfolds in real-time, mimicking the immersive feel of playing a video game. The action pauses only when the game is completed or if a character meets their demise – these are the two exits you’ll find.

More to come…
