Humanity Is Now More Prepared for the Troll, But Will It Be Enough?
In December 2022, Netflix premiered the movie “Troll,” which was directed by Roar Uthaug. Known for his work on the 2018 reboot of “Tomb Raider” starring Alicia Vikander, Uthaug has also worked on films like “The Wave,” “Escape,” and “Cold Prey.” The film stars Ine Marie Wilmann, Mads Sjøgård Pettersen, Kim Falck, Gard B. Eidsvold, Pål Richard Lunderby, Eric Vorenholt, Pål Anders Nordvi, Veronica Sinclair, and Hugo Mikal Skår. Upon its release, “Troll” received critical acclaim, boasting a score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the most popular non-English language movie on the platform with 103 million views.
Initially, a colossal being, once confined for millennia in the Norwegian mountains of Dovre, stirs from its slumber, causing havoc everywhere it goes. The rampaging monster is steadily closing in on Oslo, sending our protagonists into a panic as they strive to thwart an enemy they had assumed was merely a part of Norwegian mythology. In the upcoming installment, it appears a fresh peril will surface, and although mankind has become more vigilant, will their readiness be sufficient?
Speaking about the response to his film “Troll,” director Roar Uthaug expressed that seeing it become a reality after a lifetime of aspiration was simply incredible. The global appreciation for our Norwegian production has surpassed all expectations, he added. He’s thrilled to now embark on another chapter in this exciting saga.
It’s with great excitement that we’re reanimating the classic film, Troll 2! This time around, we’re delving deeper into a Norwegian fairy tale, with talented Norwegians playing, directing, and producing the movie. Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud are among those bringing this magical story to life.
