As a dedicated gamer and movie enthusiast, I can’t help but be in awe of Glen Powell‘s unique connection to his craft. Having grown up watching him grace our screens since the early 2000s, it’s remarkable to learn that his parents have been a consistent presence in his movies since “Spy Kids 3.”
Glen Powell shared this week that his parents have made appearances in every one of his films, a practice that can be traced back to “Spy Kids 3.”
During an interview on “The Today Show” as he promoted his latest film, “Twisters,” the lead actor of “Top Gun: Maverick” casually mentioned an interesting fact.
During a rodeo scene in the movie, there’s an exciting part where my parents and I are seated close by Daisy Edgar-Jones. You’ll spot them momentarily as I show you this clip. Yes, they’re sitting just behind us in the next shot. Check it out!
Today, Hoda Kotb, the show’s host, inquired whether Powell’s parents had appeared in all of his films. His reply was affirmative.
I’ve been a part of the Spy Kids franchise since the third installment, I admit that. In fact, I believe I’ve appeared in every single movie following Spy Kids 3.
In December last year, it was disclosed that Powell’s parents, Glen Sr. and Cyndy, made an appearance as airline passengers in his 2023 romantic comedy film, “Anyone But You,” alongside Sydney Sweeney.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter’s May issue, Powell shared that his family, which includes his parents and two sisters, make it a point to drop by every set of his projects, regardless of the distance from their home in Texas.
Powell’s mom shared with THR that they might occasionally obstruct him, but you wouldn’t realize it since he makes everybody feel cherished and well-attended to.
