At a movie premiere, Glen Powell is undoubtedly creating quite the buzz. However, it’s not everyday you hear about an A-list actor organizing a traditional Texas barbecue, sponsored by Walmart – quite an unusual pairing!

Actor from the movie Twister launches his initial venture in product spinoffs with Smash Kitchen, a collection of eight budget-friendly organic sauces designed for a Southern-style summer barbecue. Powell has personally invested in this new brand, which he co-founded alongside Sean King and Sameer Mehta, and is now available at Walmart stores nationwide, priced between $1.97 to $4.97. The initial lineup includes Yellow Mustard, Dijon Mustard, Ketchup, Hot Honey Ketchup, American BBQ, Hot Honey BBQ, Mayo, and Spicy Mayo.

A Texas resident recently threw a glamorous event under the stars at a mansion in Hollywood Hills. Guests enjoyed spicy cucumber margaritas and sampled chicken sliders, tenders, and burgers from H.wood Restaurant Group, all seasoned with Smash. The delicious flavors kept guests entertained, though they may not have realized that Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Josh Duhamel, Aaron Paul, Dylan Sprouse and his wife Barbara Palvin, Eiza Gonzalez, Anthony Ramos (a co-star from Twister), Ashley Greene, and Stella McCartney were there in disguise. However, Sydney Sweeney was missing, fueling rumors that she is now in a relationship with her Anyone But You co-star.

Powell shares with The Hollywood Reporter that his most cherished family moments take place in the kitchen, where he’s joined by his mom Cyndy, dad Glen Powell Sr., and sisters Leslie and Lauren. He recalls our childhood was filled with creating various sauces. His sister recently reminded him that at just 7 years old, he had already concocted a homemade hot honey ketchup! We always smothered our meals with these sauces.

Powell, who was clearly the face of all their advertising efforts, also personally funded this project with his savings. “Many actors have their own businesses,” he confessed. However, I believe that food represents a significant part of my identity. The way one nourishes others reflects one’s feelings towards them.

At the hilltop party, there was a smaller outdoor area showcasing an impressive assortment of French fry options. From shoestring to waffle cuts, tater tots, zucchini, and sweet potato, they had it all! They were served in cones, neatly placed onto paper plates, leaving space for your preferred sauces – for dipping or dunking, as clearly indicated.

One of the ways I express my affection is by gathering people together for enjoyable experiences. This setting is where I feel most comfortable, and I strive to offer them premium food and fresh ingredients,” explains Powell. “As I’ve grown older, I’ve become more aware of what goes into food. I discovered that many of my niece, nephew, and friends consume condiments loaded with high fructose corn syrup and artificial dyes and preservatives. Smash Kitchen aims to create clean, top-quality products at a price point that most Americans can afford – it’s astonishing how affordable ours is.

As an advocate for change, I aim to transform everyday pantry essentials, beginning with the ubiquitous Walmart. With over ninety percent of the nation residing within a ten-minute radius, it’s nearly one-third of the grocery market. This is what I envision as my long-term goal.

Mehta, one of the founders at Smash Kitchen, shared the company’s background: “We first met Glen at a barbeque thanks to a mutual friend,” he stated. “Glen has always enjoyed barbecue, condiments, and barbecue sauces, which were a big part of his upbringing. Upon moving to L.A., he started focusing on healthier products, but couldn’t find a sauce that he truly liked.

King mentioned that Smash Kitchen is completely organic and free from genetically modified organisms, a venture they’ve undertaken in collaboration with Walmart. He emphasized that the prices are accessible to everyone. Glen was deeply engaged in creating the recipes; we even had weekly taste tests, some involving his entire family. He was particularly insistent on flavor, ensuring it tasted great so children would return for more. Moreover, all the food is prepared right here in the United States.

Beyond Smash Kitchen’s current offerings, there are additional culinary delights on the horizon. “Later this year, we plan to introduce several new categories,” King mentioned. “These will encompass a variety of kitchen essentials within the food industry. Items designed to enhance both your meals and your health.

A 36-year-old individual is one of the numerous Hollywood personalities who have leveraged their fame for Walmart’s offerings.
