‘Godzilla x Kong’ Follow-Up Lands Jack O’Connell in Human Cast

Actor Jack O’Connell, who is captivating audiences in the preview for director Ryan Coogler’s upcoming film titled “Sinners“, has signed on to be part of Legendary’s next addition to their Godzilla-King Kong monster movie series.

In this venture, filmmaker Grant Sputore takes charge, with the production falling under Legendary Entertainment’s Monsterverse banner. The screenplay for this project has been penned by Dave Callaham.

Beneath the surface of our planet, the specifics of the narrative are being hidden, but Legendary has hinted that the tale will revolve around several fresh human characters joining forces with the cherished and legendary Titans, Godzilla and Kong, as they confront a devastating global catastrophe.

Kaitlyn Dever leads the human actors, while Dan Stevens reappears, remembered for his role as easygoing monster vet and dentist Trapper from “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire“.

O’Connell is playing Dever’s brother.

The well-known British actor gained recognition among American viewers after landing the main part in the emotionally intense survival story, “Unbroken,” produced by Universal and directed by Angelina Jolie about Olympic athlete Louis Zamperini.

Recently, he made appearances in the Amy Winehouse biopic titled “Back to Black” and Michael Mann’s film “Ferrari”. This year, two major studio movies featuring him as one of the villains will be released. He can be seen opposite Michael B. Jordan in “Sinners”, which Warner Bros. is set to release on April 18. Additionally, he is part of a star-studded cast for “28 Year Later”, Danny Boyle’s return to the zombie genre. This thriller, which also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, and Jodie Comer, will be released on June 20 via Sony.
