Russian fashion designer Gosha Rubchinskiy has ended his partnership with YEEZY, a streetwear label he had been leading as chief designer for nearly two years under Kanye West’s guidance.
In 2023, Rubchinskiy became part of YEEZY following Ye’s termination of his partnership with adidas due to offensive tweets. These tweets included insults towards Jewish identities, promotion of harmful conspiracy theories, and a threat against the Jewish community. Despite being controversial himself, having been implicated in a 2018 incident involving inappropriate image requests from a minor, Rubchinskiy joined YEEZY with the aim of restoring the company’s tarnished reputation.
On Instagram, Rubchinskiy announced, “Our collaboration with YEEZY is now over. The December release was my final one. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Ye and the entire YEEZY crew for an unforgettable journey—one that I will never forget.
He found that as he progresses, he’s constantly refining his creative perspective, delving into fresh endeavors and reinventing previous concepts in a manner that resonates with him genuinely. Eventually, he will disclose more details about the future plans for the GOSHA RUBCHINSKIY brand revamp.
