Govinda rushes back to Mumbai after feeling unwell amid election rally, weeks after gun injury: Report

As a long-time admirer of Govinda’s comic genius and charisma, it’s hard not to feel a pang of concern every time I hear about his health issues. The man who brought laughter to countless homes and made us dance along with him in films like Coolie No. 1, Partner, and Rangeela Raja, now seems to be battling more than just the villains on screen.

Govinda, adored by many in India for his entertaining roles from the ’80s and ’90s, recently encountered another health hurdle. During a political event in Jalgaon, Maharashtra on November 16th, he felt unwell and had to abruptly leave the roadshow. This unfortunate incident followed his leg injury last month, which he sustained accidentally while shooting himself.

The actor was campaigning in Jalgaon for Mahayuti candidates in Muktainagar, Bodwad, Pachora, and Chopda. During the roadshow, he requested the crowd to support PM Narendra Modi and vote for the ruling alliance, which includes the BJP,  Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, and NCP.

Govinda returned to the political arena by aligning with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction of the Shiv Sena. As such, he has been actively involved in pre-election campaigning for the upcoming Maharashtra elections. Regrettably, he had to abruptly halt his public event today and rush for medical care.

In October’s early days, the actor found himself hospitalized after an unfortunate accident involving a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his leg. He was promptly admitted and had to use a wheelchair for a while. But during Diwali, there was good news as his wife, Sunita Ahuja, shared that he was making a steady recovery.

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’m delighted to share an update on a beloved figure in our community. His son recently spoke with the media and shared some encouraging news: “Dad is doing wonderfully well now! The stitches have been taken out, and there’s no tension to report. Soon, he’ll be back on his feet and dancing again in just a couple of weeks!

In 1986, Govinda first appeared in the movie Ilzaam, followed by over a hundred and sixty Hindi films. Among his most memorable roles are those in Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani, Aankhen, Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1, Partner, and many more. His latest film appearance was in Rangeela Raja in 2019 on the big screen.
