Govinda’s son Yashvardhan gives update on actor’s health after accidental shooting: ‘1-2 hafto me dance bhi karna…’

As a die-hard fan who has grown up watching Govinda’s magical performances and infectious humor, this news about his accident was quite disheartening. Yet, hearing about his quick recovery and his son Yashvardhan‘s optimistic outlook about him dancing again soon filled my heart with joy. It seems like the legendary ’90s sensation is as resilient as ever!

On October 1, 2024, Bollywood legend and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was unexpectedly taken to Criticare Hospital in Juhu due to an accidental discharge from a licensed firearm that resulted in a leg injury. Following his release from the hospital, Govinda’s son Yashvardhan reported that his father remains optimistic and jokingly suggested that he could be up and dancing again soon.

At a Diwali celebration in Mumbai, Yashvardhan announced that Govinda is improving after his recovery. He mentioned that the actor’s stitches have been taken out and he’s doing fine with no concerns at present, expressing “He’s doing really well now, the stitches are gone, so there’s no worry.

Yashvardhan chuckled and said, ‘In no time, he’ll be joining us for a dance too!’

According to The Indian Express, Govinda had plans to travel to Kolkata but was involved in an unforeseen accident instead. Later, his manager, Shashi Sinha, provided information about the incident and assured everyone that Govinda’s current health status is stable.

As he put away his licensed handgun into a cabinet, the firearm accidentally slipped, causing it to go off. The bullet hit Govinda just below his left knee, but was swiftly taken out. Shashi affirmed that Tina Ahuja, Govinda’s daughter, was with him at the hospital, noting that “he’s communicating well with everyone and is doing fine.

Tina informed us that her father had surgery to take out a bullet and will stay in the Intensive Care Unit for monitoring. The doctors plan to reassess his health tomorrow. In the meantime, Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was on a trip, quickly came back to be with him.

In March, the popular figure from the ’90s known for his hilarious humor and dynamic dance skills returned to the political scene. Before the national elections, he allied himself with the Shiv Sena group led by Eknath Shinde, a daring decision.

In the presence of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Govinda articulated his enthusiasm for this partnership, stating that he views the party as ‘pure’ – a welcome option amidst the frequently stormy landscape of politics.
